Listen Not Label News (January 2017 )
Our diagnostic pathway for Telford & Wrekin Commenced July 2016 and has enabled 60 NEW people between July to December to access our services.
39 of these adults require a ASD assessment and are going through the pathway and awaiting confirmation of a diagnosis.
We are also providing post diagnostic support as identified in the service users personalised care plan. Which enables us to signpost service users to appropriate support networks .
Our aim is to enable adults to achieve their identified aspirations , be it independent living, volunteering in the community , gaining meaningful employment etc, maintaining their health and well being.
We still have a weekly Friday hub which opens from 10am till 1pm , this has proved a very welcomed activity. Service users meet and make new friends and many a week we have witnessed them going off into town having a bite of lunch together . We have guest speakers attend talking about topics of interest to majority of the group. And we have a social evening last Thursday of every month whereby we go for a meal or ten pin bowling.
